Product Overview

The CFS Cut to Fit Carbon Pre-Filter Pads for HRF-C1 Filter C - 2 Pack approaches household use with versatile design choices and practical use. Made with Carbon. Notable features include two cut and fit activated, contributing to its well-made character.

Key Features

Two cut to fit activated carbon pre-filter pads replacing the HRF-C1, the filter sold as Filter C. They ship as sheets rather than pre-cut filters, so you trim them to your frame with ordinary scissors: lay the old pad on top, trace round it, cut just inside the line.
Activated carbon adsorbs the odor molecules that a mechanical filter passes straight through: cooking smells, smoke, pets, damp basements, bins. That is a different job from trapping particles, which is why carbon is run alongside a HEPA filter rather than instead of one.
It makes your main filter last longer. Used as a pre-filter the pad catches the dust, lint and pet hair that would otherwise load up your HEPA element. That layer is cheap and takes a minute to change; the filter behind it is neither, so on a machine that gets through filters the pad pays for itself.
Because it is cut to size rather than moulded, it is not limited to the model named. The same sheet suits other purifiers, range hoods, humidifiers, furnace returns, vents and window air conditioners. If it has a frame or a grille and you can measure it, you can cut a pad for it.
Carbon exhausts rather than clogging, so change it when the odor starts coming back rather than on a fixed schedule. How fast it loads depends entirely on the room: a kitchen or a house with two dogs will get through one far faster than a spare bedroom. Compatible pads made by CFS, not original manufacturer parts.
